SASHA RUBEL is an independent artist, dancer, and filmmaker and founder of NIMBY films.  Sasha’s doctoral work in visual anthropology is focused on the intersections of experimental film, revisionist colonial history, and translation of cultural forms and religious traditions across artistic mediums in Benin and the Torres Strait Islands.  She lives and works in Addis, Ababa, Ethiopia.
